BENDING OF THERMOPLASTICS
The process of thermal bending of plastics consists of three stages. In the first stage, the material must be heated along the bending line until it becomes flexible. An important element of this stage is the precise and even heating of the material, exactly at the bending point, which later translates into the quality and accuracy of the bending performed. The next stage is the bending stage of the component. If the heating stage has been carried out correctly then bending does not pose much of a problem. The final third stage of bending is freezing the shape, that is, holding the bent part until it loses its plasticity. All three stages are possible on the thermal bending machine our company has.
The ability to adjust the width of heating, as well as to adjust the heating temperature, allows us to precisely bend thermoplastics obtaining the desired effect. The bending machine at our disposal also has the ability to heat elements from above and below simultaneously. Such a solution allows us to bend plastic elements up to 20 mm thick. The working area of our thermal bender is 2 m. This length allows us to bend elements of large dimensions, which increases our competitiveness in the market.
The plastics we can bend are:
- PC ( polycarbonate )
- PVC ( polyvinyl chloride, PWC )
- PMMA ( plexiglass, plexi)
- HIPS ( high hardening polystyrene )
- ABS ( polystyrene),
- HDPE ( polypropylene )
- PP ( polypropylene )
We perform professional bending of plastics
Performing bending correctly is not easy, but the appropriate machinery and knowledge of our specialists allow us to complete the order 100% in accordance with the design assumptions. We guarantee precise and aesthetically pleasing plastic bending for the production of articles in various industries. We will be happy to help you create beautifully presented displays, leaflet pockets, business card holders or promotional gadgets.
The widespread use of plastics raises the quality bar high. Consumers come into contact with products of this type on a daily basis and are immediately able to distinguish those made solidly from inferior products. By outsourcing plastic bending to our company, you can be sure that the product will gain in the eyes of end users!
KnM professionals are at your service!
One of the greatest difficulties in bending plastics is to carry out the process in such a way that the material does not change its optical properties. The area to be bent must therefore be properly heated across the thickness and width. When bending plastics of small dimensions is carried out, one-sided heating is possible. Then the heated side should be on the outside of the edge, as it will be stretched. The less heated side is on the inside.
These and many other elements of the thermoplastic bending process have an impact on the final effect. However, you do not need to have any knowledge of this subject to obtain a high-quality product. Our team will perform professional processing for you, and in case of questions or doubts, we will be happy to support you with valuable advice. You are cordially invited to cooperate with us!
